Echoes Carried in the Morning Porch

Death had stopped the heart that dreams
Shut the mouth that prays
Broken the strong arms that toils
The darkness of the grave
Had quench a special star tonight
I do not know where the elephant had fallen
But this sound
This sound shattering the silence of dusk
But this echo
This echo carried in the mourning pouch of the evening
All speak of the end of another legend
How many more people has to die
With dreams unfulfilled and prayers unanswered?
How many more tears have to flood
Over the graves of the young brilliant ones?
Is there still justice and fairness in the world?
