About me

Hello

I'mOlatuja Oloyede

A Writer and a Tech Enthusiast

As a creative content writer, I have written over 400 poems, published books for many international organizations mostly in the United States, United Kingdom and Columbia. You will find many of my personal works on creativearena.org.ng. I also design all kinds of websites at pocket friendly prices. My area of expertise includes, but not limited to business or company websites, blogs, e-commerce, portfolios, community websites, multi-level marketing platforms, and e-learning platforms. I have my client-base both within and outside the continent of Africa. I also provide hosting services, cheap domain registration and almost free web maintenance for web owners and designers. I love astronomy with a special interest in astrobiology. I am curious to know if life exists beyond our planet and what form it might be. I love swimming, cycling, playing open-world games and simulation games. I sing, play piano, flutes, drums and trumpet, each with different degree of mastery. My conviction of God and divinity is not stereotypical and therefore not subjective to questionable theocracies of dogmatic minds. Sometimes, I wish I was born a billion years from now. Maybe then, teleportation, telepathy, time travel and telekinetic energy will not be mere fantasies of pseudoscience but a normalized technology of the age. But will humans be around for that long? I am curious the sun might swell in fury as a giant star and raze the earth to vapor or contracts with dull flames into a dwarf star and the earth will sink in stoning ice forever. Unfortunately, we will be gone with our curiosities except only if the soul of man is truly indestructible. I am frail, fallible, and human. I prioritize love, and humanity. I wish we let animals thrive in their habitats without killing them (especially the harmless ones) for food. I am Olatuja Oloyede and below are links to my other websites.

Ripe Plantain

*RIPE PLANTAIN*

All seated in class awaiting the next lecturer for what will likely  be a very long  lecture
Just then that moment arrives that moment when you look in somebody's face and you just can't look away because  you will be looking away from that thing you love, just like plantains, the ripe ones, the ones that have become so yellow with dark spots scattered across its skin.
You notice her face are as spotless as the ripe plantains when you remove its cover and you  fantasize because you know her body will be like her spotless face beneath her dress .
Just then ,she  almost  caught you staring at her but you look down and your eyes meet  her legs, her legs are fine and curved  like putting two plantains in an horizontal position.
She cuts through your heart as easy as knives cut through plantains.
You wish she will talk to you, you wish she will be yours one day, it hurts you ,she doesn't notice you,you know her dogs name but she doesn't know your first name, it hurts you so much like hot oil jumping out of the frying pan and landing on your skin, you should run at this point but you can't your eyes are focused on her ,your plantains are still frying ,you are ready to endure pains just for a moment of joy with her.
Then you hear her call your name, you are shocked, you look at her face again, your heart melts and becomes soft like the ripe plantains you just took out of the frying pan, she only wanted to ask if you had two pen ,you didn't but you gave her the only pen you had, you are a fool but what does it matter? ,your hearts feels this joy like that first bite of plantain,so sweet that you have to close your eyes just to savor the moment ,you encourage yourself that all hope is not lost she could be yours one day ,this plantain must never finish ,you want to continue enjoying it ,The ripe plantain; the beautiful omowunmi.

What Will bite you, will bite you

*WHAT WILL BITE YOU, WILL BITE YOU*

My biggest fear is, not getting perturbed by anything. I
just want to live for others. I just want to be the
cross carrying our pains and turmoils. But as well, I
want to look beyond the sky and see a sort of
happiness as bright as the morning sky has yet to
see.
I better begin to start caring…
But for what
There are many, many things- they are biting
If I get perturbed, then, I see my self-awake
And if awake, they may not bite me after all
After all I should be more rational than…
…they are
And knowledge, they say, is power
You know, there are not many things, many things, that are wrong with
introverts.
That is for an introvert. That is if you ask them. There is nothing
wrong.
I don’t even believe anything is wrong with me. My eyelids are blinking
up and down like a confused shadow now, telling me, am conscious,
am not sleeping. In fact I am hungry, and if I am hungry, what next?
…If I am hungry, then I am awake.
A hungry stomach should not even know what sleep is, not to talk of
describing it, or worst still, in big grammar- HAVING A CONCEPTUAL
KNOWLEDGE OF IT.
I am not used to getting perturbed even if the family roof is ablaze- there should be nothing wrong.Even if the President is on an escapade from his destabilized country, may be sick to make it light, I don’t still care. That is politics, it should be politics, what is my concern self. They are eating the money, and I am here reading how they are eating the money. And some other big bellied ones- the opportunists, are even waiting at the door post of his life. They are waiting for him to kick the bucket, that is, to die. And they will continue from where he stopped, in his fight against corruption.
You all know what I mean…
Something like-
Recovering TWENTY BILLION from a building One building..
Not just a building-a room
In the building
And people are dying in hunger
I heard some other recoveries were made, from graves and all that
blah blah blah.
I don’t even care is the worst of it. May be I am beginning to lose hope in our leaders. That is, if at all the hope is not all lost. Many lost hope, but they are still fighting their course.
WHAT WILL BITE YOU WILL BITE YOU
Even the roads to my very school should not even be a trouble for our type.
If they like let them come and repair it. That is, if they care.
And what if they don’t care.
Then, everybody can go to hell.
You see, many things have been stationed at various stations to station our lives at a station. To make it simple. The arrangers of life themselves, those guys, they know very well that there are many things that can bite.
Even those roads. The roads I care little of. That is, the ones they should work on, if they care, they can bite the hell of red blood from our skin.
***
Now, Imagine my very self, skipping past the busy car pack, waving to
the Okada man. I am still confused if he was deaf. Someone was
pointing to my direction. Then he turns, and starts coming. He made
me remember our popular slogan in school *LET ME BE* *COMING AND BE GOING*. You know, some times that can be the joy of being a student, experiencing life in a way that comes once in a life time, and later you will be surprised you did such a thing.
He stopped by the way, rode towards me.
“ Oga, were you dey go”
I stood still, pierced through his eyelids, I was seeing stupidity, I didn’t waste time telling him that.
“Where else I dey go, young student like me. Abi una get factory or company here, for this village”
He carried me any way. Money should be the heaven he so much hungered for, that very moment. I thought as much
“ Oga abeg fly if you fit fly” my lips was shivering.
“ Oga, hia, fly go where, for this road”
The truth of the matter is, there was nowhere to fly to. Wet, red mud was in fact waging a holy war against the Okada. It rained. I was late to school; the repercussion was bright as washed white ceramic tiles.
Something better might be the morning sky.
In fact I was late to school in a way that made me wondered if it was not better trekking, than taking the okada, plus the transport fare.
All the repercussions, I thought of, rained down on me as expected, as a typical frustrating rainfall will do. I thought as much. Now, they are eating their money, and I shouldn’t be reading and watching them eating the money. But shouldn’t my voice be heard, if i continue to cry. May be one day the sky will come with a better hope.
And I am even crying now, just because I have been bitten. Bitten by that good for nothing, bad, muddy road.
It is my road, your road and our road. What binds us, binds us very well.
I have just learnt to cry. You know, an introvert shouldn’t be crying, about a poor road, what concerns him.
What will bite us will bite us, if we don’t do that for which we are
human- that is to shake our body, and talk and scream. They must
hear our voice.
Even if we get bitten, at least we will be satisfied with our effort. And
we won’t cry much.

WE WON’T CRY MUCH...

Short Story by KHAYTEE

Dear the first,
I grew up trying to  please you. I always thought being first was the only way to win your heart. But I was never good enough, in truth I still don't think I am....good enough. It's okay though,  it doesn't hurt so much anymore. Okay I lied. It hurts a lot. Maybe I was a mistake, never  meant to happen. I can't find any other way to explain why I'm treated in certain ways. I guess my love isn't enough for the both of us to share. Then again do I even know what love is. Anyways I don't hate you. In fact, I thank you. You taught me about how cold the world is and make my heart stronger. Thank you.

Dear the second,
You came into my life and caught me off guard. Taught me to lower my walls. Made the world look so beautiful. Took me out on a magical ride into the world I knew nothing about. Made learning intriguing. How could I have known you were just another wolf in sheep's clothing. You played your cards well. I was a fool. But without you o would never had known what heartbreak felt like. I thank you for all the lessons learnt. I now know that this thing call a heart can he taught to not love. Thank you.

And finally, dear the third,
I do not yet know you but I have had a thousand and one dreams about you. I look forward to meeting you in person. I can't wait for all the fun we'll have together, the in-house jokes we'll laugh at, great races in the park. I most especially can't wait for your first word; I have a feeling it will be my name. I promise that I'll try to be the best I can. Give you the best of both worlds. Please don't be mad if you lack a him in your life. I promise we'll do just great. I thank you for giving me hope. I love you. Thank you.

My Friend

*MY FRIEND*

A true friend is like faint sounds of a September song,so tuned to the ear and so cool to the soul. A true friend is like a flowing stream with its current dancing happily to the drums of trust. Everyone needs a sincere friend to get by, each day, to sharebittersweet moments together. But all my life, I've not found such friend. Why? I don't know. I have craved for a true friend to share the same interests as mine, such as listening to soul and RnBmusics all day with headphones on or playing basketball and laughing hysterically to dry jokes.

I am genuinely a very lonely and private soul. I only knew life regarding the desolate days and nights I had. I am living mainly in a pen and a notepad and music as my only solace-with God being my first priority. A pen and a notepad are my only imaginative true friends.

Friends, I am delighted and grateful to have you both with me to share all life experiences, the fun and sadness. You are always with me on quiet nights and my companions on lonely nights. God bestows on people their warranted destinies. He gives you to me. For as long as I can remember, wherever I go, whatever I do, I always do it alone. It has become more of a norm than an habit. When people surround me, I feel insecure, strange, uncomfortable and even lonelier—  except my family. Its always like a petite voice echoing to me: "You don't belong in this crowd!".

Therefore, I withdraw myself from the crowd. Am I abnormal for not needing to have a friend? I don't know whether I'm normal or not. All I know is that"This is me!".

My friend, this pen is my primary form of expression. Clean sheets of outlined paper are my canvas. I write to live my fantasies. I write to define life. Unlike other people, you're never indifferent to me. You always lend me your ears tolisten to sad cries of my dreams. Its so bad people don't get to read you.

My friend, no happiness can be compared to when someone reads your poems and listens to your spoken words. Because of you, I can write these jargon thoughts endlessly...PEN, I treasure the inanimate you as a true friend. Sorry I digressed, it's the block again. I have to go now.

Yours without blemish,
George O. Victor

THE AMBITIOUS FOX AND THE UNAPPROACHABLE GRAPES

A farmer built around his crop
A wall, and crowned his labors
By placing glass upon the top
To lacerate his neighbors,
Provided they at any time
Should feel disposed the wall to climb.

He also drove some iron pegs
Securely in the coping,
To tear the bare, defenceless legs
Of brats who, upward groping,
Might steal, despite the risk of fall,
The grapes that grew upon the wall.

One day a fox, on thieving bent,
A crafty and an old one,
Most shrewdly tracked the pungent scent
That eloquently told one
That grapes were ripe and grapes were good
And likewise in the neighborhood.

He threw some stones of divers shapes
The luscious fruit to jar off:
It made him ill to see the grapes
So near and yet so far off.
His throws were strong, his aim was fine,
But "Never touched me!" said the vine.

The farmer shouted, "Drat the boys!"
And, mounting on a ladder,
He sought the cause of all the noise;
No farmer could be madder,
Which was not hard to understand
Because the glass had cut his hand.

His passion he could not restrain,
But shouted out, "You're thievish!"
The fox replied, with fine disdain,
"Come, country, don't be peevish."
(Now "country" is an epithet
One can't forgive, nor yet forget.)

The farmer rudely answered back
With compliments unvarnished,
And downward hurled the bric-à-brac
With which the wall was garnished,
In view of which demeanor strange,
The fox retreated out of range.

"I will not try the grapes to-day,"
He said. "My appetite is
Fastidious, and, anyway,
I fear appendicitis."
(The fox was one of the élite
Who call it site instead of seet.)

The moral is that if your host
Throws glass around his entry
You know it isn't done by most
Who claim to be the gentry,
While if he hits you in the head
You may be sure he's underbred.

One of those Nights on Campus by Oluwamarc

Excerpts From the book I never wrote [Non-Fiction, usage of names are real]

Unlike other days, I had chosen to trek the long distance to use one of the lecture theaters in school for my evening class, the last semester examination had started some days ago, it has now become a culture for students to fill every available spots inside the campus.  Traditional I am of the type that prefers to sit back at home to read during examination time, visiting the library only when my ever noisy neighbors chose to start their trade of annoying banters, of which i was a part of, so it's only fair for me to have my share of the disturbance, but I needed to study for my Greek examination the next morning.

Wole,my very close friend had volunteered to follow me to school for the evening study session, and I did not refused him, for it's very rare seeing him paying any serious attention to evening classes, for he would prefer to have his all night reading session, so I was glad I saved him from freezing himself out there in the cold at night for our lecture theaters was no save haven.
.
Due to the magnitude of the course, which I was to write the next day and the unavailability of electricity in the town, we had both opted to stay two extra hours reading inside the school, so we devoured every pages like an hungry lion, leaving none for others.  When we realized that we had stayed far too long, we packed our books, laptops and phones, stuffing them into our bags as we left the school premises, hoping to get back to our hostel before 12 am.
.
Just as the wind bellowed calmly and the leaves dancing in harmony, the star were already finding their way beneath the clouds flanking the crescent shaped moon. We drifted with empty stomach, along the narrow path that led to our hostel, with only few houses in sight, for all that was around us was a thick bush, we were already smelling home, when we stumbled to the midst of a group of guys, and we need no guide to tell us that they were cultists, I thought of running away as fast as my legs could carry me, but then I thought of my bag, which was as heavy as a milestone and my friend wole, who was as short as a midget, besides it's too dark if me to run, for my glasses would do so little helping me navigate the turns. They surrounded surrounded us like little children surrounding the food seller's stall, and demanded that we tell if we were spies,  we lacked the strengths to give a reply for instead of hearing their shouts at us, we heard our stomachs crying for food, and our body demanding for warmth. Wole was no where to be found for his shortness made him invincible, their mouth smelt of alcohol and i knew it's pointless arguing with them, expecting the worse, just as a slap was about to find a waiting abode on the terrace of my face, one of them screamed, "leave them alone, seems I know this one in glasses", pointing to my shirt which had "nifes"printed on it. He told the rest of his gang that we used to attend classes together, which left me baffled, for I couldn't seem to place him.

And like a freed bird I walked calmly away from them, while wole was already miles ahead, thanking my stars, wole broke the silence, "MARCUS! So that guy think he could slap you right? "
.
I looked at him, lost of words, and I thought deep within, if he had slapped me, what would you have done midget?
We continued our journey, with me promising myself never to stay that late in school again.

The Broken Heart that May Never Mend

He is her crush right from secondary school days,  he is tall,  handsome,  slim and very intelligent,  the head boy of the school,  she admires him a lot and is ready to do anything to have him.  They are not classmates,  he is in S.S 3, while she is in S.S 2, she hates to see him with any other girl as she gets so jealous whenever she sees him with a girl.

This strange affection she has for him continued for long, but she couldn't tell Him about it as she is shy and don't know what he will think of her,  perhaps a desperate and shameless girl, so she keeps her feelings for him to herself,  she didn't tell anyone not even her friends, as they also comment on his cuteness,  she felt they might also have feelings for him,  so she hid her own feelings from them.

After his SSCE,  this guy left the school,  yet she never stops fantasizing about him, she still thinks about him and imagines becoming his wife one day.

Years pass, so many things happen and she finally forgets about this guy. She is now in the university,  studying Law in her first year. She is eighteen years old now.  One day,  she is outside the canteen waiting for her friend when she sees  a group of guys walking towards her. One of them looks so familiar,  she keeps on looking at them as they get closer,  yes! That is Nicholas,  her secondary school crush,  she is excited. She giggles and feels butterflies in her belly as old feelings resurface. She is not going to be dull this time she said,  she must get him,  she never knew they are in the same school,  fate actually bring them together again she thought,  she is lost in her thoughts and fantasies about him that she doesn't even know her friend is already standing and watching at her silly behaviour in public.

Rose!  Her friend finally calls her,  she comes back to her senses now,  what is wrong with you,  Efe asked her? I have been standing here over five minutes and you didn't even notice,  you are just staring at those guys,  Rose interrupted her,  let's just go, you won't understand

One year later,
....thanks for the money,  food,  foodstuffs,  free sex and everything I got from you in this last year,  well this letter is to inform you about our break up,  I never loved you,  and will never do,  as a matter of fact,  I have a fiance and we will be getting married soon.  I just saw you as a desperate girl that was why I gave in to your advances,  especially the added advantage of being a rich man's daughter,  it's over and over forever,  bye Rose..

Rose fainted after reading the message, and since then have suffered mental depression,  she no longer think well or straight,  her life is a mess,  her academics suffered,  everything about her was sad and sorrowful,  she hardly go out,  she stayed indoors all day,  sleep, cry and think about Nicholas,  she thought he loved her,  but he never did,  she have broadcasted to everyone about her relationship with Nicholas,  all her pictures on social media talks about their love,  how was she to come out and face this people after making so much noise.  She gets angry at everything and snaps at her roommates at the slightest provocation,  when her situation became worse,  and her roommates can no longer endure it, after doing everything to make her cheer up again,  it all failed, they told the school authorities about her situation, the school authority informed her parents about it,  her parents came,  took her away from school,  she ended up in a psychiatric home suffering mental depression at the age of 20.

Alone at the Corner of the Room

Just after supper,  we all sat down on the mat in our compound listening to our grandma as she told us a story about the history of our village.
Suddenly,  we heard a sound from above... Kpa kpa kee kuuu keeee! It was a thunder strike,  a warning for a heavy outpour of rain, a whirlwind followed the thunder strike, the moon disappeared,  dark and heavy clouds took over.
Go inside!  go inside! my mum said to me and my younger siblings as she helped our grandma enter into her small room
I and my siblings quickly ran into our own room as we squeezed ourselves in one corner of the room.  Soon,  my mum joined us after placing some plastics at specific corners of the compound for rain to fall in.
My younger siblings were already asleep on the mat,  while my mum went over to her mat and lay there.
The thunder kept striking,  the wind kept blowing, the cloud was dark and heavy,  while I sat still like a cat at the corner of our room.
Silently,  I prayed in my heart,  that it will not rain,  I was not ready for another sleepless night.  Just last week,  a heavy whirlwind blew off the roof of our house,   and whenever it rains,  the ceiling always leaked directly on my head at the corner of my mat where I sleep.
My father is late,  my poor mother cannot fix the roof,  nor repair the ceiling,  she was just a poor farmer,  and use the little earnings of her farm to feed us and our grandma.  I and my siblings have to leave our private school and go to the village public school,  after school we join our mother at the farm to help her.
That was the reason why I sat still alone at the corner of the room.

The Servant and the Wild Dogs

The late king of my community had ten wild dogs. He used them to torture and eat any of his servants who made a mistake. One of the servants gave an opinion which was wrong, and the king didn’t like it at all. So he ordered that the servant be thrown to the dogs
The servant said, “I served you for ten years, and you do this to me? Please give me ten days before throwing me to those dogs!”The king agreed.
In those ten days, the servant went to the guard who looks after the dogs and told him he would like to serve the dogs for the next ten days. The guard was baffled but agreed, and the servant started feeding the dogs, cleaning for them, bathing them, and providing all sorts of comfort for them.
When the ten days were over, the king ordered that the servant be thrown to the dogs for his punishment. When he was thrown in, we were all amazed to see the ravenous dogs only licking the feet of the servant!
The king, baffled at what he was seeing, said,
”What has happened to my dogs?”
The servant replied, "I served the dogs for only ten days, and they didn’t forget my service. Yet I served you for a whole ten years and you forgot all, at my first mistake!"
The king realised his mistake and ordered the servant to be set free.
This post is a message to all those who forget the good things a person did for them as soon as the person makes a mistake towards them. Don’t put out the history that is filled with good because of a mistake you don’t like.

A Saviour and A Judge

A lady committed a crime and she was sent to court. The punishment for the crime was life imprisonment. She shed tears for help but to no avail. When the case was called in court she started weeping. Her husband, family and friends who accompanied her started weeping but there was no hope. But something happened. Before the lady could stand in the witness box a man stood up and the court room was silent. Everyone looked at Him. He was noble and gentle. He stood in the witness box and interceded on behalf of the woman. The case was difficult, yet He used all His strength, energy and resources to fight on behalf of the woman. After a long legal battle between the man and the accusers, the lady was set free. The lady fell before the man and asked 'WHO ARE YOU?' The next day the lady deliberately committed another crime and was sent to the same court. As soon as she entered the courtroom, she saw the man who interceded for her the previous day on the judgement seat. He was no longer a lawyer, but a judge. With smiles on her face the lady said 'I have come again' The man lifted his head and said 'yesterday I was a lawyer, so I fought for you, even when you were guilty. But today I am a judge and my judgement must be fair.' With tears in the ladies eyes she asked for the second time 'WHO ARE YOU' and the man replied "YESTERDAY I WAS YOUR SAVIOUR. BUT NOW I AM YOUR JUDGE" Today Christ Jesus is our lawyer and redeemer, but a day is coming when He will give a fair judgement to everyone. JESUS IS COMING SOON, SO PREPARE TO MEET HIM. Don't fail to share this with others, I have done mine by sharing it with you

Hold on to Christ

HOLD ON TO CHRIST
A Pastor was ministering in a remote area where he had to trek each Sunday for 4 hours through thick forest, and to make it on time, he had to start travelling on foot from 4:00 am.
One Sunday morning, as the Pastor was in the midst of the forest, thunder announced rains. He knelt down and prayed to God to hold the rains back until he reached the parish and to protect his pastoral vestments, his Bible and communion. But after prayer, the rains started pouring heavily. He reached the parish badly soacked by the rains. He preached but with discouragement because to him, God had not answered  his prayers.
Back home, he could not even eat. He was contemplating whether to resign or continue because he could no longer serve a God who does not answer prayers. He believed his prayers were not effective and did not match  his preaching.
While he was reflecting on the decision to take, three young men entered his home and said to him: "Pastor, we came to testify and assure u that you should continue serving your God for He is a living God."
The pastor changed his attitude and was eager to know more. They showed him money and told him they'd been paid to kill him because his prayers and preachings were disturbing the witches, wizards, sorcerers and occultists in this community.
That they were in the forest waiting for him to shoot him when from nowhere and in the midst of the dry season, heavy rains started pouring and wet the gun powder they were to use. They were shocked by this event. They were holding guns in their hands as they watched the pastor pass them with no power to accomplish their awful mission.
After hearing this, the Pastor knelt down, thanked God and committed to serve Him for the rest of his life and said, he has a God that will never fail him.
Do you have a God that always answers your prayers the way you want?
Draw your own lesson. The truth is: GOD ANSWERS PRAYER.
Be blessed and Hold on to Christ. Share this if you were touched and inspired like I just did.
Shalom..!!

Praise in the Midst if Trouble

Praise in the Midst of Trouble

Let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually – Heb 13:15

A city missionary, stumbling through the dirt of a dark entry, heard a voice say, “Who’s there, Honey?” Striking a match, he caught a vision of earthly want and suffering, of saintly trust and peace, “cut in ebony”—calm, appealing eyes set amid the wrinkles of a pinched, black face that lay on a tattered bed. It was a bitter night in February, and she had no fire, no fuel, no light. She had had no supper, no dinner, no breakfast. She seemed to have nothing at all but rheumatism and faith in God. One could not well be more completely exiled from all pleasantness of circumstances, yet the favorite song of this old creature ran:

“Nobody knows de trouble I see,
Nobody knows but Jesus;
Nobody knows de trouble I see—
Sing Glory Hallelu!

“Sometimes I’m up, sometimes I’m down,
Sometimes I’m level on the groun’,
Sometimes the glory shines aroun’
Sing Glory Hallelu!”

And so it went on: “Nobody knows de work I does, Nobody knows de griefs I has,” the constant refrain being the “Glory Hallelu!” until the last verse rose:

“Nobody knows de joys I has,
Nobody knows but Jesus!”

“Troubled on every side, yet not distressed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.” It takes great Bible words to tell the cheer of that old negro auntie.

Remember Luther on his sick-bed. Between his groans he managed to preach on this wise: “These pains and trouble here are like the type which the printers set; as they look now, we have to read them backwards, and they seem to have no sense or meaning in them; but up yonder, when the Lord God prints us off in the life to come, we shall find they make brave reading.” Only we do not need to wait till then. Remember Paul walking the hurricane deck amid a boiling sea, bidding the frightened crew “Be of good cheer,” Luther, the old negro auntie—all of them human sun-flowers. —Wm. G. Garnett

Faith Becomes Sight

Faith Becomes Sight
Have faith that whatever you ask for in prayer is already granted you, and you will find that it will be – Mark 11:24

When my little son was about ten years of age, his grandmother promised him a stamp album for Christmas. Christmas came, but no stamp album, and no word from grandmother. The matter, however, was not mentioned; but when his playmates came to see his Christmas presents, I was astonished, after he had named over this and that as gifts received, to hear him add,

“And a stamp album from grandmother.”

I had heard it several times, when I called him to me, and said, “But, Georgie, you did not get an album from your grandmother. Why do you say so?”

There was a wondering look on his face, as if he thought it strange that I should ask such a question, and he replied, “Well, mamma, grandma said, so it is the same as.” I could not say a word to check his faith.

A month went by, and nothing was heard from the album. Finally, one day, I said, to test his faith, and really wondering in my heart why the album had not been sent,

“Well, Georgie, I think grandma has forgotten her promise.”

“Oh, no, mamma,” he quickly and firmly said, “she hasn’t.”

I watched the dear, trusting face, which, for a while, looked very sober, as if debating the possibilities I had suggested. Finally a bright light passed over it, and he said,

“Mamma, do you think it would do any good if I should write to her thanking her for the album?”

“I do not know,” I said, “but you might try it.”

A rich spiritual truth began to dawn upon me. In a few minutes a letter was prepared and committed to the mail, and he went off whistling his confidence in his grandma. In just a short time a letter came, saying:

“My dear Georgie: I have not forgotten my promise to you, of an album. I tried to get such a book as you desired, but could not get the sort you wanted; so I sent on to New York. It did not get here till after Christmas, and it was still not right, so I sent for another, and as it has not come as yet, I send you three dollars to get one in Chicago. Your loving grandma.”

“As he read the letter, his face was the face of a victor. ”Now, mamma, didn’t I tell you?“ came from the depths of a heart that never doubted, that, ”against hope, believed in hope" that the stamp album would come. While he was trusting, grandma was working, and in due season faith became sight.

It is so human to want sight when we step out on the promises of God, but our Savior said to Thomas, and to the long roll of doubters who have ever since followed him: “Blessed are they who have not seen, and yet have believed.” —Mrs. Rounds

The Bridge is Out

A preacher was driving home one night with his wife and two daughters in the car. It was raining and dark and because of the intensity of the rain he could hardly see past his headlights. On the way he had to drive over a huge bridge. There were signs posted all along the bridge that said "DO NOT PICK UP HITCH-HIKERS." There was an institution for the criminally insane near the base of the bridge and sometimes people would escape from it and try to hitch a ride. On this particular night, as he turned his car on to the bridge, he had to drive exceptionally slow because he could hardly see the road. Somewhere near the top of the bridge a man suddenly appeared in the headlights. He was soaked, standing in the middle of the road with his shirt off frantically waving it over his head and screaming.
This preacher's wife began to say, "Oh please don't stop, try to drive around him!" But the man was unavoidable and there was nowhere for the car to go to miss him. So he had to stop the car and as soon as he did, the man slapped his hand down on the hood of the car and was screaming at the top of his lungs. The preacher looked over at his wife and said to lock the door after him and not to unlock it until he returned. His family was now crying and pleading with him not to get out of the car. He opened the door and stepped outside...He was immediately soaked from the rain. As he approached the front of the car to grab the man, all of a sudden he could make out what the man was screaming, "THE BRIDGE IS OUT! THE BRIDGE IS OUT! A BUS LOAD OF KIDS JUST WENT OVER!" As these words registered in the pastor's mind, he looked back in the car at his wife and two daughters. He wrapped his arm around the man and wept in gratitude. The preacher stood there with the man for the next half-hour in the middle of the road, waving his jacket above his head screaming."THE BRIDGE IS OUT! THE BRIDGE IS OUT!"
For a lost and a dying world, "THE BRIDGE IS OUT!" For a people heading to a Christless Eternity,"THE BRIDGE IS OUT!"
where are the men and the women who will stand in the middle of the road and forbid people to perish ?
HELL HAS OPENED IT'S MOUTH WIDE AND MANY ARE SPEEDING INTO IT. Where are those who will stand in the gap, on the streets, the highways and the byways to forbid multitudes with the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST from going to such a horrible place ?

Are There Two Jesus

Are there two Jesus?

David your food is getting cold, Sarah called as her six years old son seemed to be glued to his Bible. She walked straight towards him and snatched the Bible from him angrily.
"I told you I am already late for work, moreover, what are you looking for?, for the past one week you seems to be inseparable from your Bible ", Sarah asked as she helped David to adjust his school uniform.
"Mom, I can't seem to find my answer , perhaps you may help me" David said.
"Okay Sweety but eat your food first and then you can ask your question in the car",she replied.
David was so excited, he was finally going to get an answer to the question that has been bothering him for long. Within a twinkle of an eye, he had finished up with his food. They entered into the car and as his mother drove on he asked "Mum, may I ask my question now? "
   "Of course ",Sarah replied.
"Mum, are there two Jesus? "
"Hmn, what did you say?", Sarah asked to be sure she heard her son well.
"Mom, are there two Jesus? ",he repeated it
"Will you shut up, what sort of blasphemy is that, who has been teaching this heresy? ", Sarah asked angrily. David was now shaky "Our new teacher taught us that......... "
"Oh oh, your new teacher has been feeding you with such heresies, no problem I will go and see him before going to my office, better I go late than leave you like this" Sarah interrupted her son. When they got to the school, the morning devotion had already started. Sarah walked straight to the teacher not minding if she was going to disturb the other children.
"What have you been teaching my son?, if you aren't capable to be a teacher then resign, okay? ". Before the teacher could say anything, Sarah had slapped her, the proprietress' attention was called to this and they were all ordered into her office. Both parties narrated their own part of the story. The proprietress brought David closer to himself who was now shedding tears. She calmed him down and asked "why did you think there are two Jesus? "
Still crying he said "Our teacher told us that Jesus is our father and his children behave exactly like him. He said Jesus does not steal, lie, fight or stay away from church and that his children are the same ". David answered and sobbed.
"Okay, that's true but that is not enough reason for you to believe that there are two Jesus ",the proprietress said as she wiped David's tears. "Is there any other thing we need to know, don't be afraid, tell me what your teacher said, he won't flog you ?"
"My mum told me she is Jesus' daughter, she use to sing "I am a Jesus baby.... ",but mum still fights. I saw her take daddy's money last month and when daddy asked, she denied it. This morning, she even fought with daddy. So I thought probably Mummy's Jesus was different from my teacher's Jesus. That was why I was searching my Bible to see if I will find my mummy's Jesus.
By this time ,a mist of tears had gathered in Sarah's eyes, she was so ashamed, she could not look into her son's eyes........

I Almost Sold Jesus for 50 naira

Sometime ago, a preacher from a distant town was transferred to our local Church.

Some weeks after his arrival, he had an appointment that made him to board a bus to another part of the town.

When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had mistakenly given him his balance in excess of 50 naira.

As he considered what to do, he thought within him,
'You'd  better give this money back. It would be wrong to keep it'.

Then another thought came,
"Oh, forget it, it's only 50 naira; who would worry about this little amount,
after all the bus company makes so much money on fares; they will never miss it.

Accept it  as 'a gift from God' and keep quiet.

When he was getting down from the bus, he paused momentarily at the door, and then handed the 50 naira to the driver and said,

'Take;
the balance you gave me was over'.

The driver, with a smile, replied,'

'Aren't you the new  preacher in town?'

'Yes I am'
he replied.'

'Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about where to go to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I give you balance in excess. I'll worship with you at the Church this Sunday.

When the preacher stepped off the bus, he grabbed a nearby pole, looked up and said,

'Oh God, I almost sold your  Son for 50 naira.'

Our lifestyles are the only Bible some people will ever read.

This is just a subtle example of how much people watch us as Christians, and will put us to test!

Always be on guard -- and remember --

You carry the name of Christ on your forehead and shoulders once you call yourself a Christian. '

'Watch your thoughts;they become words.'

'Watch your words; they become actions.'

'Watch your actions; they become habits.'

'Watch your habits; they become character.'

'Watch your character; it becomes your destiny'.

I'm glad a friend forwarded this to me as a reminder and I  chose to forward it to you.

If you don't pass this on to anybody, nothing bad will  happen to u;

but, if you do,
you would have ministered to someone today and God will bless you.

If you  must miss any place, don't miss HEAVEN.

The end is no more NEAR, It's HERE.

Pls send this to all those u'll like to see in heaven.

Oluwamarc: Death in My Dreams

Circles of blood graced the terrace that led to ogele's river, could this be an Hunter's handiwork, no it couldn't have been, as I remembered that sacred grounds like this, is no hunting ground for the hunters, fear gripped me when I saw pieces of human flesh laced with fresh blood, while the flies danced, buzzling round the pieces, I shook, I could hear my heartbeats, it seems faster.
I should have stayed back with ogechukwu, I sobbed. I hear sounds, seems like footsteps, No it's not, the rustling of the winds stopped, I saw an ikwikwie watching untop the osisi aki bekee tree, it eyes glowed like sun, a bad omen. In a flash I dropped mama's earthenware, it's her favourite, but I couldn't wait to watch as it came crashing down the earth, and to the earth it returned, dashed towards the forest thick, hoping I will take cover in the safety provided by the vegetations bunker, I hid myself against the greens, unsure of what I was hiding from, panting heavily, I wished I could chameleon myself against the greens around me, as a little child, I have watched  the Ugwumagana changing colours at will to suit his environment, I wished I was a Ugwumagana , or better still with some esoteric powers that will transform me into a bird, I just wanted to be back home, my introduction is few moons away.
I laid low blending with the vegetations, I watched, my eyes seemed tired, but i could still hear the faint sounds, suddenly I saw some sparkles of light across, I crawled over, walking on my two knees, I moved in its direction, steering my way around the trees, careful not to reveal myself, it seems a foolish idea,i should have just ran, ran as fast as my legs could carry me, only ogechukwu could run faster than I do in the village, but some unknown spirits kept pushing me to this unknown danger, if I die, I die.
With every step I took, the sounds seems clearer,i saw a human figure, bending low, with its head down into... I couldn't see well, seems the plants around him will not let me see him well , I stood up for he seems in a danger, this I thought,so I dashed up moving confidently to him , which proved to be a bad decision, for it became clearer, nothing could be more horrible than this, rooted to my foot, I tried moving, seems mother earth is filled with some magic glue, the cardinals meeting at my head, the more I saw,the less I saw. A man eating figure, he never seemed bother with my uninvited presence, as he continued tearing through the fabrics of his victim's flesh, blood laced the map of his mouth, with different tributaries of blood dripping down his jaws, his canine seems unusual, with some pointed up like an aroused nipple, there in between his dentals, some intestine seems trapped , and it dangled like an headless snake below. I stood rooted, seems my chi is bent on punishing me today, this punishment is far too heavy for me to bear. He continued tearing his way down through the flesh, working his way down, pushing the bones aside, he hungrily devoured, filling his stomach with every bits, an Udele  circles nearby, hoping that he would be generous enough to leave some fleshy carcase.
Something moved in me, I noticed my right leg has shifted from its original position, I was about lifting the other when I lifted my head to look at the "man eating man" my heartbeat ceased for seconds, he was looking at me,his eyes shone like that of a cat, his clothes covered in blood, he left his precious meal, he drew nearer, the Udele also perched nearer.
He drew nearer, and my spirit seems to have left my body, a fleshy lump seems standing, I tried to picture his face, but my sight was already failing me, I saw nothing but death approaching me, wearing an oyinbo coat, which is already covered in blood, it's irregular pattern making some odd designs on the fabrics, a crucifix with X inscribed on its meeting point dangled around his neck. He stood before me,watched me like some thousands years artifact which was just unearthed from the rubbles. Danger smelled around him,he watches with a keen eye, seems I fascinate him,i wished the earth will open up its ugly mouth and swallow me, I prayed for death, but not from this horrible being, he moved his hands, and he touched me, his hands upon my shoulder,I shuddered at his touch,as if he wanted to examine his next meal, he moved his hands from my shoulder, placing it on my face, his fingers found rest on the sofa of my face, for he seems pleased with it , moving across my facial templates, I seems helpless, my nostrils drizzled with liquids, it thundered, the Udele  flew away hurriedly , I fainted into his open arms and it rained heavily.

I dreamt of him in my dreams, and I knew it's him, he was wearing the same oyinbo coat I saw him wore, just that it's without blood stains. We danced under the sun, and with our hands interlocked together, we ran down the hills together, with wings we flew, riding through the Stormy weathers to the sea, and on its banks, we made love, and the next day I gave birth to a boy, we both named him   Onwuatuegwu,  so much he looked like his father.
I coughed my way back to life, and found ogechukwu sitting beside the fire in my room keeping tabs on the pot placed on fire, he shouted, Papa! Papa! Ifesinachi  has opened her eyes. Papa rushed like a child down into my room, mama I was told had gone down to call a dibia, for I was told, I laid unconscious for three days.
Fully back to life, I was administered to by the dibia upon mama's arrival, upon seeing me regaining consciousness, mama sprawled on the ground not minding her wrapper, and the wet group stained the face of Father Clement, who was patterned on the wrapper, she sang various songs to chukwu thanking Him for my survival. When asked to state recount my ordeals in front of the igwe days later, I simply told them, I was attacked by a wild animal, a soft spot I had developed for this man eating man, reasons I cannot fathom. One thing I was sure of, is my sanity, Ogechukwu knew I lied
My dreams later became our favorite home, for he visited several days after, another baby we gave birth to, another boy, and we both named him, Ozuluonye. Next time we will have a baby girl, this I was sure of...

My Beauty is My Doom____Part 4 The Whispers of Segilola

Part 3

That is the sad tale of Queen Wuraola
The most beautiful woman of her time.

I can still remember that night
Segilola's voice
Whispers across the walls of yesteryears:
_" beauty is indeed a gift_
_But can also be your doom_
_it could be a blessing_
_and also be a curse_
_But virtue is rare in this world_
_Beauty can lure a man_
_But it is good characters that will keep him._
_An unbridled tongue has no right_
_To cry over a broken heart_
_A dirty damsel has no right_
_To wonder why all the men left_
_I, Segilola attracted my husband with beauty_
_But I won his heart with my character"_

I remembered how
I watched her beautiful lips swing
As she tells that sad tale
Of a murdered Queen.

The next day Segilola was rushed home from the farm
She had been bitten by a poisonous  snake
She died that evening
I was not allowed to see her body
That sad evening took away my joy
And many memory of her
I forgot the story too
And the wisdom in it
***********************

Back in the sacred groove
The spirit bird has stopped singing
The spirit of Segilola  in that _Awoko_ is gone

I was like a lifeless corpse
Lying tired in the grass
Wallowing in the willows of shame
I feel thorns of guilt
Pricking me all over
My past is here haunting me
I now know so well
why all the men left
Why they used me all these years
I have invested all my life on my body
Nourishing my skin and beauty
While my basket of virtues is empty
I was generous to my first lover
I gave him my virginity
My last lover took honesty from me
In between these two
I had graciously given my body
And I never learn to cook
Or clean

Now, I'm at the fringes of death
I'm at the edge of hell
But I know where the wound arches
Segilola's voice through that bird
Has given me the secret
So I will go back home
To reorder my steps
In the sand of time
May Eledumare please forgive me

Part 5_

I guess you will want to know what happened to Adunni after that encounter!

Always Say Hello

A lady worked at a meat distribution factory. One day, when she finished with her work schedule, she went into the meat cold room (Freezer) to inspect something, but in a moment of misfortune, the door closed and she was locked inside with no help in sight. Although she screamed and knocked with all her might, her cries went unheard as no one could hear her. Most of the workers had already gone, and outside the cold room it's impossible to hear what was going on inside. Five hours later, whilst she was at the verge of death, the security guard of the factory eventually opened the door. She was miraculously saved from dying that day. When she later asked the security guard how he had come to open the door, which wasn't his usual work routine, this was his explanation:
"I've been working in this factory for 35 years. Hundreds of workers come in and out every day, but you're one of the few who greet me in the morning and say goodbye to me every evening when leaving after work. Many treat me as if I'm invisible. Today, as you reported for work, like all other days, you greeted me in your simple manner 'Hello'. But this evening after working hours, I curiously observed that I had not heard your "Bye, see you tomorrow". Hence, I decided to check around the factory. I look forward to your 'hi' and 'bye' every day because they remind me that I am someone. By not hearing your farewell today, I knew something had happened. That's why I was searching every where for you."
Moral Lesson to reflect upon: Be humble, love and respect those around you. Try to have an impact on people who cross your path every day, you never know what tomorrow will bring. Let this story be an inspiration.  Let's share to inspire others; someone shared this to inspire me  and I've been greatly inspired by this story.

*_THIS IS A SAD STORY_*

_A sick person in a hospital bed was visited by relatives._

_The patient was on an oxygen MACHINE and therefore couldn't speak._

_As they stood beside the bed, the patient took a pen and a piece of paper and wrote a note which he gave to one of the relatives who put it in his shirt pocket without reading and they continued with their conversation._

_After a few minutes, the patient died._

_The relative later picked the note from his pocket to know what the dead man had written._

_And guess what❗_

_Sadly the note read...._

_*"Please move away from there, you have stepped on the oxygen pipe. I can't breathe again , you are killing me".*_

🌹 *LESSON:*🌹

_Do you postpone reading posts❓_

_They might be helpful to you or to somebody particularly at a most critical time._

_Please pick your calls, read that note._
